New Disney Movie Alert!!!

So my cousin showed me this trailor of a new movie Disney is putting out. It looks really cute, funny, and creative. Sure, I'm a little disppointed that it isn't 2d animation like Princess and the Frog...but this still has a little of the 2d animation look to it. Here is the trailor to Disney's new movie "Tangled". Cute huh?

OCOEE Outreach

So, this Saturday my sister and I are going on a week long mission trip to Cleveland, TN to work with the organization OCOEE Outreach. I have gone with our church for the past two years...and I have enjoyed it very much. This year is gonna be totally different though. The past two years the youth and women has done VBS and the men did construction. Well, this time the youth is doing a paint job on a house. (the owner of the house is too sick/poor/old to do it) So... I'm excited that we get to do something new and different this year. I can't wait!!! Here are some pictures of last year.
The men putting a roof on a house...
Dancing at a nursing home. (they loved the chicken dance!) (Im in the yellow shirt)

Our whole VBS group... pretty nice size.

Doing puppets at a nursing home.

My sister and I making snow cones at the block party.

I will have some posts post automatically while I am gone so... check back every so often. :)

Summer Time!

Once again...here I go with photography. I just absolutely love any photo that has to do with the ocean and beach. These pictures makes me wish I could become that good of a photographer. And it makes me wish I could teleport there and back whenever I wanted to. (I live in Indiana...so I'm no where near a beach.) But, for now, these pictures are as close to a beach as I'm gonna get. Dream on!

Refashionista!

Tank refashion!!! So, I went to Goodwill to find some cheap summer clothes that I could spruce up. I found this plain orange tank. (orange isn't usually my color, but I thought I could do something with it) This is how I decorated it. What I did was look through my mom's sewing supplies for some buttons. And boy did she have buttons! All kinds! I went with a safari color scheme theme (he he...it rhymes) for the buttons. I then had my younger sister teach me how to sew them on. (yea...I'm pathetic...I know.) After they were all sewed on, I took some brown thread and just added a few stitches here and there for decoration. This was just one of many ideas for buttony (I'm pretty sure I just made up a new word..) tanks that was swimming around in my head. There were so many color schemes I could have gone with! So, experiment...and have fun. As soon as the summer slows down...I wouldn't mind doing another!

If

*~*~*~*~*~*~If~*~*~*~*~*~*
"If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give away to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise; If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or, walk with kings - nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run - Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son! - Rudyard Kipling - photo via: Le love

Summer Boredom...pt1

Not all people have crazy schedules this summer like me. I'm sure somebody out there is having a laid back summer (which is totally nice) but sometimes...you get a little bored. So I am gonna try to help that. Here is my first little idea.
This is my mommy. She had a creativity spark one day and decided to spruce up some old chairs that we had and didn't use anymore. So, she bought some spray paint stuff from Wally World (aka..Walmart)and sprayed 5 chairs the four primary colors...plus orange. But first...the not so fun part. Sanding! UUUGGGGG! Man does your arm get tired. So, I guess the positive way of thinking is that you will get muscle too! But anyway...those are the blue and red ones that she did. She thought they would look cute outside on our patio or inside down in our basement/family room area. So, look around your attic, cellar, basement, garages, or yard sales for cheap wooden chairs. And paint them! Just an idea....

Campin Time!

Howdy. Well, my sister and I are off to a church camp tomorrow. We are the music leaders...which is pretty exciting. I feel honored that I was asked to do it. I came up with all the music, and all the motions to the songs. But..it was fun. :) I have several posts that will automatically post while I am gone. So...keep a look out. Have a great week ya'll!

Quotes That Apply to My Life

Here are two quotes that really seemed to apply to my life. If I had time...I could have probably found more...but this is good enough so far. If I do find more later...there can always be a part 2!
There goes that gal,
In that pretty skirt
With a smile that makes you feel new

But to honor its coming with all of my heart

Balloon Happiness

For some reason, I am getting really into photography. Some pictures just take your mind soaring somewhere else. I've been looking at quite a few photography blogs...and I've noticed that one major prop people like to use in their shots are balloons. At first I thought it was kinda cheesy and strange...but the more I look at them...the more they make me happy. They just add so much color and cheerfulness. Here are some of my favorite balloon pictures. Mabye they will make you happy too? Photos found via: We Heart It

Modesty Meagan pt 2

Pt. 2 The Mall I was standing at my locker when Amy approached. "I thought you were going to wear that skirt today." She leaned against the row of lockers and looked out into the hallways. I shrugged. "My mom wouldn't let me." Amy threw her head back and groaned. "Parents!" "What can you do?" I asked, gathering my books. Amy slammed my locker with a clang and followed me down the hall. I heard her black boots clip-clopping down on the tile floor. "I'll tell ya what you can do," she said. "We can go to the mall this afternoon and get you something decent to wear." I stopped walking. "My parents would kill me," I told her seriously. "Not if they don't know," Amy replied. "You can keep your new stuff at my house." I considered this option. I knew that mom was wrong about her rules, that she just didn't understand what it was like to be a teenager. But I also knew that she wasn't paticularly pleased when I decided to disobey her anyway. I shook my head. "I can't" Amy laughed. "OK. You don't have to decide now. Just come to the mall?" Amy's grin was bright and insistent. She was so funny that I gave in. "OK. I'll ask Mom if she will drop me off. But I'm not buying anything!" She grabbed my shoulder and squeezed. "We'll see!" Then she trotted off down the hall way. When I got to the mall, I found Amy standing in front of the music store. She was wearing a black skirt that looked like it was made out of fishnet. "Your mom lets you wear that?" I asked after sneaking up behind her and tapping her on the shoulder. "No," she said. "I changed when I got here." "Let's go down to the food court," I said. "I'm starved." We walked together towards the escalator, but Amy stopped suddenly and grabbed my arm. "What?" I asked, alarmed. "Look down there!" she sqeaked, pointing towards the railing. I walked over and peered down at the first floor of the mall. Then I broke out into a huge smile. "It's Josh!" I said. I'd had a crush on him for months. "And Adam," Amy added. Josh never went anywhere without his best friend. I leaned my chin against the railing. "They're going to the food court. Let's go talk to them." Amy shook her head. "You're not ready for a Josh-encounter yet, Meagan." I knew what was coming. "Amy...." She looked into my eyes. I could see that she'd started wearing heavy mascara. It was forming little clumps around her eyelids. "Do you want Josh to notice you or not?" I bit my lip. She had me there. "Well, yeah..." "Then come on!" she daid. "Let's find you something great to wear!" She was gone in an instant, flying down the escalator. I followed her slowly. Mabye I would get lucky and we wouldn't find anything.

I've Learned

I've Learned.... "I've learned.... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned.... That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.
I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned.... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
I've learned.... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned.... That the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?
I've learned.... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned.... That there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks.
I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned.... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned.... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned.... That I wish I could have told my Dad that I love him one more time before he passed away.
I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned.... That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.
I've learned.... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned ... That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation.
I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done."

What I Learned Today....

I learned that the female Sumatran Rhino goes in heat for only 24hrs, once a month. Doesn't give you much time does it? LOL (if your wondering how or why in the world I knew that... Its cause I went to the Cincy zoo today and learned about animal conservation. And the Sumatran Rhino is extremely endangered.)
