Designer Princess

This girl on tumblr is a genius.
She goes by the name "Disney Bound".
She takes characters from movies an books (mostly Disney) and creates outfits inspired by them.
Even male characters or animals. It's amazing how she does it.
But these were my favorite.
It is her "designer" collection of all the different Disney princesses.
My favorites would have to be Belle, Pocahontas, and Ariel.
What are yours?

Something About Christmas time....

"What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace."
~Agnes M. Pahro
I hope you have a blessed Christmas.

Fearless

I don't know how it gets better than this. You take my hand and drag me head first, fearless. And I don't know why but with you I dance in a storm in my best dress. Fearless.
I now know why the trees change in the fall. I know you were on my side even when I was wrong. And I love you for giving me your eyes, for staying back and watching me shine. And I didn't know if you knew, so I'm taking this chance to say. That I had the best day with you today.
So don't you worry your pretty little mind. People throw rocks at things that shine and life makes love look hard. The stakes are high, the water's rough. But this love is ours.
I like the way you sound in the morning. We're on the phone and without a warning. I realize that your love is the best sound I have ever heard. Every time you smile, I smile. And every time you shine, I'll shine for you.
Can you feel this magic in the air? It must have been the way you kissed me. Fell in love when I saw you standing there. Today was a fairytale.
Then I think about summer, all the beautiful times I watched you laughing from the passenger side. And realized I loved you in the fall.
I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the night. I'm the one who makes you laugh when you know you're bout to cry. I know you favorite songs and you tell me bout your dreams. Think I know where you belong, think I know it's with me.
Drop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain. Kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain. Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile.
Long live the walls we crashed through. While the kingdom's lights shined just for me and you. I was screaming long live all the magic we made. Bring on all the pretenders, I'm not afraid. ******* Long live all the mountains we moved. I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you. I was screaming long live the look on your face. And bring on all the pretenders, one day we will be remembered.

I Heart Nerds......

......and their style. I find it funny that what I once thought was nerdy and geeky, is actually looking quite cute now. First off, the glasses. I broke my dad's huge glasses when I was a baby cause I didn't like them. But now...I want some! What goes around comes around I suppose.
Next up, plaid. I always used to think.... eww I look like a school girl. But now I think it makes any outfit look really cute and different. I mean, who would have thought to put it with a fancy-ish black dress? And those socks with booties? Old me- Blech! New me- oh cool! yeah...just like that.
So I used to think that old plain sweaters were boring and granny looking. Same with that knee length pleated skirt. But I think that no longer! I have actually bought myself several "plain" sweaters at Goodwill this fall. And I love em. (still haven't gotten to the 'nerd' point of popping my collar though. and i'm not sure i ever will.)
I just love everything about this outfit. The mixtures of patterns, the glasses, the odd color skinny jeans, and especially the red heels. Honestly I can't see me being that...bold. But I definitely don't go, "eww... that's weird" anymore.
So yes, I do believe that our style sense changes. What I used to hate, I now think is adorb. And what I used to love, I think is kinda dumb now. (i might give some examples of that in a post later on)
Is there anything clothing wise that you used to hate, but now love?

Christmas Spirit on a Rainy Day

It's a rainy, cold, blustery day here where I live.
Doesn't exactly make you want to go out Christmas shopping or visiting with friends.
Just because you don't feel like going anywhere doesn't mean that you can't be productive
and be in the Christmas spirit.
***************
How about making some pillow covers out of those old ugly sweaters you don't like anymore.
(or ever did)
It looks way cuter on the pillow I'm sure, and you can totally give them away as gifts!

Ha, so I have always wanted to know how to make these!

I knew they couldn't be that hard! Now you can make bows out of any paper you want!

How about working on fun calligraphy for addressing all those Christmas cards that you still

haven't sent out yet.

(i'm totally in that boat...)

Make it snow in your room!
Or surprise your sibling or parents one day with a winter wonderland in their room!
Try different recipes and create little goodybags to hand out to all your neighbors or close friends. ***************** Firecrackers:. A box of saltines, 1 1/2 C. of oil, ranch dressing packet, 2 tsp. garlic powder, 2 tsp. crushed red pepper. Mix, pour over saltines in container, Serve after 24 hrs of coating! Candy Cane Blossoms recipe from Hershey's 1 bag Hershey;s Kisses brand Candy Cane Kisses 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 cup granulated sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 egg 2 cups all purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 2 tablespoons milk Red and Green colored sugar

Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; add alternatively with milk to butter mixture, beating until well blended. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in red and/or green colored sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
****************** Bake 8 - 1o minutes or until edges are lightly browned and cookies is set. Remove from oven; cool 2 to 3 minutes. Press candy piece into center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Yields approximately 35 cookies.
Well, watcha waiting for? Go get in the Christmas spirit!

Not my kind of thing...

Fingernail polish... not my kind of thing.
Which surprises even myself considering the fact that I'm an artsy person. But I must admit, I admire people who take time to care for, paint, and decorate their nails. After all, it looks pretty and feminine and I've heard that a lot of guys like it. My nails...not too pretty. Even my mom said the other day, "You're nails look ugly!" Gee...thanks mom. Just what a girl wants to hear. But ya know? She's right. Alot of times I don't even have nails really. Because I play guitar, I cut them as short as possible. Plus they just tend to get in my way when they're long. And I don't paint my nails often because when I do, as soon as I do dishes, it chips off. Extremely frustrating if I do say so myself. Anyways, enough of my complaining. Here are some awesome pics I found where, if I ever did paint my nails, I would do something like this....
How pretty is this Robin Egg Blue color? Not too bright, not too dull. Perfect for a springy day.
I must say, I really love grey fingernail polish. I think I may have to buy some... just in case I ever do paint my nails. ;) And the dandelion puff? Adorb!!
Ok so I found this rather cool. Magnetic fingernail polish. Whaa?? Yep. What you do is after you paint it on, while it's still wet, you hold the magnet that came with it over it and drag it around. You can make all kinds of cool patterns. Neato.
' Hmm...white fingernail polish. I still don't know how I feel about that. But the cherries on it makes it a lot better. :)
I don't know about for my fingers, but for toes...this looks amazing. (and yes..I do paint my toes)
I used to not like the peach/nude color. But now I do. It's not too noticeable, but makes your nails look nice and neat.
I can see my sister doing something like this. First off I like it cause it's gray again...and plus the different color paint splatters look rather awesome.
And last but not least...the most fun, creative, and most awesome way to paint your nails. Drum roll please.... * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Mustaches!!!!! Whoot! Pure awesomeness right there.
Hope you enjoyed my random post about something I don't even do. I got all the pics from Pinterest. tootles. *Ash*

Crafty Wrapping

This year I do believe that giving will be more fun than recieving.
I have had so much fun wrapping my friend's gifts and making them all "fancy like".
I was thrilled to find that we had plain brown paper in the cellar and that I found a
whole box full of old ribbon that hadn't been touched for years.
Yay for treasures in cellars!
I thought they turned out quite cute, compared to my wrapping from the previous years. This is totally random but....should I grow my hair out or keep it short? I just can't decide! Everytime it gets about shoulder length I get impatient and chop it off again. This coming Sunday my sister Emi and I are going to sing our annual song, "All is Well". And then after that, our friend Brit is going to join us to sing "Mary Did You Know". And then Sunday the 18th, Emi, Brit, and I are singing a song that I was introduced to this year called "Labor of Love". It is a gorgeous song that is so touching. Here is a video of Point of Grace singing it similar to the way we are going to sing it. Tell me what you think. :)
