Testimonies

Here are the testimonies of my sister, dad,
and the other 3 people who went.
Emi is first, then Caleb, then Dad, then Tyler
(the youth pastor/music minister at our church)
then Mr. Willis.

Warning! They are powerful!

Enlist Us Lord

My sister and dad just came back from Haiti a few days ago.
They went with three other people from our church, and a few from another local church.
They shared their testimonies tonight at church.
They were powerful.
They were recorded, so I just might have to share the
link once it is put online.

Tonight we also sang a song that I had never heard before.
At first I wasn't a big fan, the tune wasn't really that impressive and it sounded the same throughout.
But the words, wow.
The last verse especially.
I have listened to this song three more times
just since I've been home from church this eve,
and everytime those words get me.

Indwell us Lord, and purify
our hands to work for You
Enlist us Lord, to serve nearby
and cross the waters, too
Your image-bearers on the earth
will never know how much they’re worth
unless we love and help them first
and show the way to You.

Just beautiful and oh so powerful.
"Your image-bearers on the earth, will never know how
much they're worth."
How heart breaking is that?
I don't know about you, but it makes me want to jump on
the next plane to anywhere and be His hands and feet.
But wait, we don't have to go anywhere do we?
Heck, we could walk right across the street
and do the exact same thing.
Here is the link to the song called
"Let Justice Roll Like a River"
While you listen to it, think about how you can serve,
"near by and across the waters too."
God bless.

Winter Fashionistas

Hello everyone! So, how many of you are in that big snow storm? We barely missed it!
We did get a little bit of snow....but at least you can see most of the grass now.
Don't be deceived...these pictures are from a couple Sundays ago, when there was snow on the ground.
I just thought we both looked so cute. Cute enough to make a post out of it! ;p
My sister is such a model....ppllfftt. ;p And then there's me.... who is not. But that's ok, at least I have purple legs. That has to count for something. I would tell you where I got everything, but I seriously have no clue. Mostly from consignment shops and stuff. I know the tights are from Body Central and my flats are from DEBS. Other than that....no idea. I hope everyone stays safe (and warm) in this heck of a storm! ha ha...it rhymed. *Ashley*

Will I Do It?

The other day, my family was all eating at Arbys.
While we were wrapping up our dinner of roast beef goodness,
we noticed a girl walk out of the kitchen and sit in the very back of the restaurant.
It was obvious that she worked there, and it was obvious that she was sobbing. Hard.
After a little while my sister, Emi, leaned over and asked,
"Should I go see if she is Ok?"
"Sure, if you wanna."
A few minutes passed and I forgot all about it. But not Emi.
All of a sudden she stood up, and disappeared.
It took me a while to notice where she went, and then I realized.
She had done it.
Turns out the Holy Spirit had been telling her to do it the whole time.
Or as she describes it, "beating on her chest screaming at her."
It turned out to be no big deal, nothing to be afraid of.
The girl was so grateful, and Emi's light was truly shining for God.
It got me thinking......
How many times have I ignored the Holy Spirit?
Why did I? Because I was scared? Proud? Shy?
Do those reasons even matter to God? No.
Next time the Spirit of the Lord tells me to do something;
something as small as asking if they're alright,
will I do it?

Singing and Thinking About the Future

My sister and I are singing for church several times this Christmas season. Next time we practice, I'll record and post it here. :)
Also, since this is my senior year in high school, I have been getting a ton of stuff in the mail from different colleges. Most of them I set aside cause they don't interest me. But every once in a while, one will catch my attention. Today was one of those days. I got a little thing in the mail from Delaware College of Art and Design. It totally looked like my type of school! You can go there for animation, photography, interior design, illustration, fine arts, or graphic design. The only hard part would be to decide which one to go with...since I'm interested and somewhat good at all of them. I think I would have to go with illustration as my first choice. :) The only drawback is.....it's in Delaware....which is cold-er. (right? I've never been there in the winter time....if at all...)
Another thing that I am really looking into is YWAM Kona. (yes, that's right...it's in Hawaii baby!! It's not cold there!) It's not really a college I don't think...but more like an outreach/mission trip/training/thing. As you can see I don't really know much about it. (and the website doesn't help at all either) My cousin has a friend who went there, so I guess I'll just have to have a phone chat with her sometime. :) And/or contact someone who works there.
Yeah. I didn't really have a post planned today but...I began typing and couldn't really stop.
So people.....do any of you know anything about either of these colleges? If so, LET ME KNOW! I would love to hear from you about it. Do you know of any other colleges or universities I should look into?
You all are great. :)

Just Darling

A few Sundays ago, my sister Emi looked so cute. She always dresses more casual than me, so it surprised me when she came out of her room looking so spiffy. When she got home she asked me if I can post a pic or two of her on my blog. Sure...why not. ;) She got these shoes a week or two ago and I think they are DARLING! Too bad we don't wear the same size. :(
So, it is snowing here where I live today.... has it snowed yet where you live? If not, do you ever get much snow? We don't get a ton here, but it is more than enough. :)

Introducing....

So, it has come to my attantion that I have not introduced my sister to you. This is my little sissy Emily. As you will see from the pictures...she is a clown and a comedian. She cracks me up. So many people think that we look alike... but I don't see it. What do you guys think? I'll post a picture of us together at the bottom.

Fireflies by Owl City music video

This is a music video that my sister and I made a couple months ago. It's to the ever so popular (and ever so catchy) song "Fireflies" by Owl City. (actually all their songs are pretty catchy...check them out some time.) It took us a whole evening to make it.... gotta take advantage of those creativity blasts! (don't get them very often.) :)
